Here’s your daily digest of University of Georgia news:
- Georgia beat Auburn Saturday 31-24. Safety Baccari Rambo got a concussion and will be out for the Kentucky game this week. Wide receiver AJ Green suffered a sprained shoulder joint and is out indefinitely (he will miss the Kentucky game).
- Freshman running back Washaun Ealey was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week this morning.
- North Campus was trashed again following the Auburn game. See this photo from the Athens Banner-Herald.
- The Board of Regents are considering a fee hike for students, while the state is considering further funding cuts.
- A student was robbed at gunpoint in a taxi over the weekend.
- Athens police arrested 23 on underage drinking charges this weekend. The highlight was the man passed out in the bathroom of Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
And in sports:
- Georgia football fans see good and bag (Junkyard Blawg).
- Georgia men’s basketball won Friday night. That was the first game for new UGA coach Mark Fox.
- Georgia women’s basketball upset Oklahoma.
- Bowl predictions for the Georgia Bulldogs are starting to pop up. It looks like if Georgia beats Kentucky, we might be headed to the Outback Bowl or Chick-Fil-A (Peach) Bowl, although a loss to Georgia Tech puts that in jeopardy (Bulldogs Blog and Georgia Sports Blog).
